2.2. Final Use <br /> The total affected area on the site is 319.8 acres, the same as the permit area. Only 100.6 acres <br /> will be disturbed over time by mining activities. When the site is fully reclaimed, the final use of <br /> the affected area will be as listed in Table E-1 and as depicted on Map F-1: <br /> industrial/commercial and surrounding rangeland. <br /> 3. Topsoil and Revegetation Plan <br /> Throughout the reclamation process, topsoil will be replaced to a depth of 0-24 inches (12 <br /> inches on average) on all disturbed areas reclaimed to rangeland. Topsoil available from <br /> stripping that is in excess of that needed for reclamation will be sold. <br /> The seed mix chosen for rangeland revegetation of the site was selected because it will <br /> establish a diverse, effective, and long-lasting vegetative cover that is capable of self- <br /> regeneration without continued dependence on irrigation, soil amendments or fertilizer, and <br /> provides equal or better coverage than the existing vegetation of the surrounding area. <br /> Plantings will be limited to grasses and forbs that are well-suited to the property considering the <br /> soils and climate. Table E-3 shows the revegetation seed mix. <br /> The revegetation plan considers environmental factors such as seasonal patterns of <br /> precipitation; temperature and wind; soil texture and fertility; slope stability; and direction of <br /> slope faces to provide the greatest probability of success with plant establishment and <br /> vegetation development. <br /> The following seed mix (Table E-3), proposed for the Mystic Soil will be used to revegetate the <br /> disturbed areas to be reclaimed as rangeland and will be used to reclaim the <br /> industrial/commercial use areas if this use is not approved. The seed mix will also be used for <br /> any stockpile or berm seeding. <br /> Table E-3.
