During October we treated eight tanks (-5,000 gallons
each) sampled each tank, and discharged. We will report lab analysis/results with our DMR
later this month.
The new treatment system seems to be working exactly as planned. No surprises. Our
hydrologist, Steve Belz, resigned during the summer due to the inconvenience created by his
considerable distance from his home in Denver. The only problem we continue to encounter is
finding qualified people willing to do this job at a reasonable price. We subsequently hired and
trained Landon Whinnery, the son of a local contractor, who's had considerable experience
with the site during construction of the current treatment system. He understands the
complexities and is doing a very good job conducting water treatment.
I've attached pics of the site taken in mid-October and again during the last week of October.
As you can see, the minewater reservoir has been drawn down at least two feet while the
lower stormwater reservoir in nearly empty. This is far more capacity than we had last year at
this time after your inspection.
Please confirm (email is best) that you received this in good order and let me know promptly if
you have any questions or concerns.
Sincerely,
KWIC..
