Kevin
Copeland, mine representative, and Dan MacKinnon from the Office of Surface Mining were present throughout
the inspection. No hydrologic or air quality issues were detected at the time of inspection. It was a snowy day
with some wind. Temperatures hovered around 30 degrees F.
O UTSTANDING MAINTENANCE ITEMS:
The following maintenance items had been satisfactorily addressed.
1. Willows encompassing the flume at Pond 46 had been cut.
2. Downed Fencing above pond 6 had been repaired
INSPECTION.-
GENERAL MINE PLAN COMPLIANCE:
Reclamation is complete and executed as permitted. Approximately 106.2 acres of Phase I released acres remain
for further bond release. These acres comprise the main haul road, Pond 6 and the slide area above; Ponds 15
and 16 and slide area on the east side of the site. Year nine vegetation sampling of the above mentioned areas
occurred in August 2022. Reclamation appears stable with well stablished vegetation that at this time of year has
gone dormant. Due to snow and muddy roads driving further into the site was not recommended as the site is
steep and remote.
SIGNS and MARKERS Rule 4.02
o Permit boundary markers on the main haul road were apparent and adequately spaced.
o The mine site identification sign observed at the main mine access point from the County Road, was
intact, and displaying all required information: mine name, operator name, address, phone number, DRMS
permit number and contact information.
Number of Partial Inspection this Fiscal Year: 4
Number of Complete Inspections this Fiscal Year: 2
Page 2 of 6
