The inspection was completed by Clayton Wein of the Division. Tonya Hammond
represented the operator, Snowcap Coal Company, during the inspection. The weather was clear and windy with a
temperature of 35 degrees F. The ground conditions were muddy.
FISH and WILDLIFE—Rule 4.18:
During the inspection of the TR-69 repair area, several sets of fresh deer tracks were observed on Tract 71.
RECLAMATION SUCCESS -Rule 4.15,Rule 3:
The remaining surface disturbance permitted at the Roadside Mine is 0.4 acres located on what is known
as Tract 71. The 0.4 acres was reclaimed after work associated with TR-69 was completed in the fall of 2019.
The reclaimed area was stable with vegetative cover(Photos 1 and 2). There were no indications of erosional
features. The disturbed area boundary was marked with T-posts. A mine identification sign was observed on one
of the south facing T-posts. There appeared to have been no further activity by the landowner on Tract 71 since
the Division's September 2022 inspection. Much of the western portion of Tract 71 has been bladed. The
Division did not see any new impacts from the landowner to the reclamation within the disturbed boundary
markers. The straw waddles located on the southern and western portions of the TR-69 repair area were intact and
no off-site impacts were observed.
DOCUMENTS RECEIVED: None
OTHER(SPECIFY): None
Number of Partial Inspection this Fiscal Year: 4
Number of Complete Inspections this Fiscal Year: 1
Page 2 of 4
