Given
the pits proximity to the Arrikaree River,DRMS is concerned that should the river flow during a high rainfall event
that the berm could be breached. DRMS would like information on how a breach of the berm would be mitigated.
Will there be any ditches to prevent water from inundating the pit should the berm be breached and convey possible
surface runoff around the pit and back to the river.
1. The Applicant provided a Mining Plan that was not sufficiently detailed. Please provide an Exhibit C pursuant
to Rule 6.3.3 to include following information:
a. Please describe the dimensions of the berm—height, width and distances from the stream, as it
appears that stormflow could impact the berm at the southeast end.
b. Describe any associated drainage and runoff conveyance structures.
c. From a nearby well please indicate the approximate depth to groundwater.
d. If groundwater will be encountered and/or surface water intercepted or disturbed, describe the
methods to be used to minimize disturbance to the surface and groundwater systems
including:
• proposed dewatering methods,
• sediment and storm water run-off controls, (ditches, or other conveyance
structures).
OF Colo
Physical: 1313 Sherman Street, Room 215, Denver, CO 80203 P 303.866.3567 F 303.832.8106
Mailing: DRMS Room 215, 1001 E 62nd Ave, Denver, CO 80216 https://drms.colorado.gov - O
Jared S.
