1985'/2 SOUTH BROADWAY
DAUB & ASSOCIATES, INC. GRAND JUNCTION, CO 81507-9649
(970)254-1224
FAX(970)242-8438
email: gjdaub@daubandassociates.com
www.daubandassociates.com
Form 3160-5 supplementary information:
Natural Soda LLC
Well: DVPW-1
Lease Serial No.: COC-0118327
13. Completed Operation:
All depths are referenced to GL. The DVPW-1 well reached the end of its useful life and has
been plugged and abandoned. All existing surface equipment was removed from the well. All
of the 4.5-inch production tubing string (2,675.5 feet)was pulled from the north well casing. The
7.0-inch north casing was cleaned with water and a 7.0-inch casing scraper to a depth of 2,340
feet. A cast iron bridge plug (CIBP)was set in the 7.0-inch north casing at a depth of 2,335 feet.
CBL & GR/CCL logs were run from 2,335 feet to surface prior to cementing. All cement plugs
were set using balance method and consisted of Portland Type 1/11 cement. Plug 1 was pumped
at 2,328 feet and consisted of 7.5 cu yds (157.5 sks)with High Early accelerant. Plug 1 was
allowed 5.25 hours to set, before the top of cement was tagged at 1,476 feet. Plug 2 was
pumped at 1,416 feet and consisted of 7.5 cu yds (157.5 sks)with High Early accelerant. Plug
2 was allowed 14.75 hours of set time, after which top of cement was tagged at 602 feet. Plug 3
was pumped from a depth of 578 feet and consisted of 4.68 cu yds (98.25 sks)with High Early
accelerant, to bring the cement in the north 7.0-inch casing to surface. A total of 19.68 cu yds
(413.25 sks) of cement were used fill the north casing to surface.
All of the 4.5-inch production tubing string (2,870.2 feet) was pulled from the south well casing.
The 7.0-inch south casing was cleaned with water and a 7.0-inch casing scraper to a depth of
2,340 feet. A CIBP was set in the 7.0-inch south casing at a depth of 2,335 feet. CBL &
GR/CCL logs were run from 2,335 feet to surface prior to perforating and cementing. The 7.0-
inch south casing was perforated at depths of 2,240, 2,180, 2,030, 1,845, 335, 200, and 75 feet.
Each perforation interval consists of four 0.38-inch holes at 90 degree phasing and 20.5 inches
of penetration. All cement plugs were set using balance method and consisted of Portland Type
I/11 cement. Plug 1 was pumped at 2,328 feet and consisted of 7.5 cu yds (157.5 sks)with High
Early accelerant. Plug 1 was allowed 5.5 hours to set, prior to tagging the top of cement at
1,701 feet. Plug 2 was pumped at 1,669 feet and consisted of 7.5 cu yds (157.5 sks)with High
Early accelerant. Plug 2 was allowed 15.5 hours of set time, after which the top of cement was
tagged at 852 feet. Plug 3 was pumped from a depth of 830 feet and consisted of 7.0 cu yds
(147 sks)with High Early accelerant, to bring the cement in the south 7.0-inch casing to surface.
The calculated volume of the 2,335 feet of 7.0-inch casing is 19.12 cu yds (516.24 cu ft), a total
of 22 cu yds (594 cu ft)of cement, 15.1% excess was used to plug the south 7.0-inch casing to
surface. At total of 41.68 cu yds (875.25 sks) of cement was used to plug and abandon the
DVPW-1.
The well was dug out at surface and and both 7.0-inch casing strings were cut off 3 feet below
GL then capped. A plugged and abandoned hole marker was installed per the Natural Soda UIC
permit.
For additional detail please refer to the attached As-Built Plug &Abandonment Diagram.
