September 29,2022 C-1981-018/Deserado Mine CCW <br /> Two ponds are located at the slot storage facility. The SS-1 pond is near the northeastern base of the facility. The <br /> pond was damp during the inspection. The embankments were stable and vegetated. No indications of erosion <br /> were seen. The spillway was unobstructed. The SS-2 pond is located at the northwestern base of the facility. The <br /> pond was dry. The embankment was vegetated and stable (Photo 1). There were no indications of erosional <br /> features. The spillway for the pond was clear and the trash rack over the spillway was unobstructed. <br /> The B Seam Dewatering System No. 2 was inactive during the inspection. The second cell was observed to have a <br /> small amount of water impounded in it. The embankments for the cells in the system were stable with vegetative <br /> cover. There were no indications of erosion. The spillways were observed to be clear. <br /> The B Seam Dewatering System No. 1 was active during the inspection. All cells of the system were impounding <br /> water. Discharge from the Last Chance Pond to Red Wash was observed(Photo 2). The embankments of the cells <br /> were stable with dense vegetative cover. The discharge outlet was observed to be clear of debris. The riprap <br /> channel was stable. There were no erosional features observed. <br /> The RP-1 pond was dry. The pond is located at the northern base of the reclaimed RP-1 refuse pile. The <br /> embankment had no indications of erosional features and was stable. The embankment was covered with <br /> vegetation. The trash rack on the spillway was observed to be unobstructed. <br /> The RP-2/3 pond is located at the northeastern base of the RP-2/3/4 refuse pile. The pond consists of three cells; <br /> the main cell,the east cell and the west cell. The west and the main cells were damp during the inspection. The <br /> west cell was holding a small amount of water. There was no discharge from the east cell to the main cell. The <br /> embankments of the cells were stable with vegetative cover. There were no indications of erosional features. The <br /> trash rack on the main cell's spillway was clear of debris. <br /> The RP-4 pond is located at the northwestern base of the RP-2/3/4 refuse pile. The pond was dry at the time of the <br /> inspection. The trash rack on the spillway was unobstructed. The pond's embankment was vegetated and stable. <br /> No erosional concerns were identified. <br /> The RP-5 pond is located to the north of the base of the RP-5a refuse pile. The pond was dry. The spillway was <br /> clear of blockages. The embankment was stable with vegetative cover(Photo 3). There were no erosional <br /> features noted. <br /> The RP-A pond is located at the eastern base of the RP-A refuse pile. The pond was dry. The embankment for the <br /> pond was stable and there were no indications of erosion. <br /> There are three ponds located within the main facilities area.The DP-1 pond is located on the lower bench. The <br /> pond was impounding water during the inspection. Discharge through the primary spillway was observed (Photo <br /> 4). The trash rack on the spillway was unobstructed. The pond's embankment was stable with vegetative cover. <br /> There were no erosional features observed. The PP-1 pond is located on the middle bench at the prep plant. The <br /> pond was holding water; however,there was no discharge. The outlet was observed to be unobstructed. <br /> Embankments for the pond were stable and no erosional was identified. The PP-2 pond is located on the upper <br /> bench. The pond was holding water with no discharge occurring(Photo 5). The pond's outlet was clear of debris. <br /> PP-2's embankment was vegetated and stable. No erosional features were observed.
