September 29,2022 C-1980-004/McClane Canyon Mine CCW <br /> Diversions 4.05.4;Effluent Limits 4.05.2; Ground Water Monitoring 4.05.13; Surface Water Monitoring 4.05.13; <br /> Drainage —Acid and Toxic Materials 4.05.8;Impoundments 4.05.6,4.05.9; Stream Buffer Zones 4.05.18: <br /> There are two sumps located on the west side of the mine office pad. One is located on the south side of <br /> the haul road and the other is located on the north side of the haul road. The sump south of the haul road was <br /> damp and muddy(Photo 1). The silt fence at the outlet was in good condition. There were no indications of <br /> instability or erosion. The sump on the north side of the haul road was holding a small amount of water(Photo 2). <br /> There was no discharge from the sump. The silt fence in the outlet was in good repair. There were no erosional <br /> concerns identified. <br /> The sediment pond was holding water during the inspection(Photo 3). The level of the water in the pond was <br /> below the spillway and no discharge from the pond was occurring. The sediment pond had been recently cleaned. <br /> The embankment for the pond was stable with vegetative cover. There were no indications of erosional features. <br /> The sumps along the haul road are located in between the sediment pond and the mine portals bench. The sumps <br /> were observed to be holding a small amount of water each. There was no discharge from these sumps observed. <br /> The outlets for the sumps were clear from blockages. <br /> Two additional sumps are located at the mine portals bench. One is located on the east end of the bench and the <br /> other is located on the north end of the bench. The East sump was holding muddy water in it(Photo 4). The level <br /> of the water impounded in the sump was below the outlet. The grate over the outlet was observed to be clear of <br /> debris. The sump was stable. The north sump was mostly dry and a little damp. The outlet for the sump was <br /> clear. There were no indications of instability. <br /> The drainage ditches along the haul road were dry during the inspection. There were no erosional concerns <br /> identified. <br /> PROCESSING WASTE/COAL MINE WASTE PILES—Rule 4.10 and 4.11 <br /> Drainage Control; Surface Stabilization; Placement: <br /> The refuse pile was stable during the inspection. The recent pond cleanings had been added to the pile. <br /> There were no off site impacts observed. <br /> SIGNS AND MARKERS—Rule 4.02: <br /> The mine identification sign is displayed at the gate at the crossing to East Salt Wash at the entrance to the <br /> mine site. The sign was in good condition and posted in an unobstructed location. The sign displayed the required <br /> information for the permittee,the mine permit and the Division. <br /> TOPSOIL—Rule 4.06 <br /> Removal 4.06.2; Substitute Materials 4.06.4(4); Storage and Protection 4.06.3; Redistribution 4.06.4: <br /> The topsoil pile is located to the south of the sediment pond. The pile was stable with vegetative cover <br /> (Photo 5). There were no erosional features observed. The topsoil pile marker was identified on top of the pile. <br /> The perimeter ditches were stable.
