15 September 2022 C-1994-082/Yoast Mine RAR o Pond 14 was not discharging at the time of inspection. o Pond 13 held clear water at the time of inspection no discharge. The pond was not discharging at the time of inspection. o Pond 12 was discharging clear water at the time of inspection. SLIDES and OTHER DAMAGE 4.12 o The site, in the past, has experienced soil movement in the form of slumps and slides. At the time of inspection no evidence of recent new movement was apparent at the slumped areas above County Road 37. These areas are mostly associated with springs that flow after snowmelt. RE VEGETATION-Rule 4.15 General Requirements 4.15.1; Use of Species 4.15.2, Grazing 4.1 S.S o Reclamation and revegetation have been completed at this site, with most of the site phase II and Phase III bond released. o Vegetation was turning autumn gold and beginning to dry out. Vegetation comprises a diverse mix of various species of grasses, perennials, forbes and shrubs. o Pond banks and dam outslopes appeared well vegetated at the time of inspection. o Establishing vegetation on slide and slump areas is problematic due to slope and aspect and these areas remain sparsely vegetated. o The drainage above Pond 12 represents the only Phase I reclamation remaining at the site. FISH and WILDLIFE—RULE 4.18 o Abundant wildlife is often observed throughout the site mine. Wildlife included red tailed and Cooper hawks, and waterfowl consisting of merganser ducks, and others. On the approach to the site a field of grain replete with sandhill cranes, and geese.
