Gunnison Ave, Suite 240 <br />Grand Junction, CO 81501 -5711 <br /> <br /> <br />Re: Bowie No. 1 Mine (Permit No. C-1981-038) <br /> Permit Renewal Application No. 8 (RN-8) <br /> <br /> <br />Dear Sir or Madam: <br /> <br />The Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety hereby issues notice, in accordance with Title 34, <br />Article 33, Section 118, Paragraph 3, of the Colorado Revised Statutes, that on September 6, 2022, <br />an application to renew an existing permit to conduct coal mining operations at the Bowie No. 1 <br />Mine was considered complete for the purposes of filing. All review and comment periods as <br />provided in the Colorado Surface Mining Reclamation Act and the Rules initiate from this date of <br />filing. <br /> <br />Bowie Resources, LLC proposes to continue underground coal mining and/or reclamation operations <br />on land located approximately 3 miles North of Paonia. The permit area is further described as <br />follows: <br /> <br />In all or portions of the following: <br /> Sections 1, 2, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 22, 23, 24, and 25 Township 13 South, Range 92 West of the <br />6th P.M. and <br /> Sections 17, 18, 19, 29, 30, 31, and 32 of Township 13 South, Range 91 West of the 6th P.M. <br /> <br />The above-mentioned tracts of land are shown on the following USGS 7.5 minute Quadrangle <br />map(s): Gray Reservoir, Bowie. <br /> <br />This application requests a renewal of the permit for the Bowie No. 1 Mine. <br /> <br />This renewal application does not propose revisions to the approved mining and reclamation plan, <br />nor is there any proposed surface disturbance outside of the currently approved disturbance area.
