We understand that there is little
runoff at this site due to the porous nature of the soil and that runoff that does occurrazely reaches the
sedimentation pond. Additionally, you have stated that Coors Energy will be certain that dischazge to surface
waters of the state does not occur by pumping to another holding pond on site if this ever becomes necessary.
We have corresponded with the Colorado Division of Minerals and Geology (CDMG) specialist and he
concurs that it is extremely unlikely [hat dischazge could occur from this site. On this basis, we will allow
the permit certification number COG-850038 for this facility to expire on lone 30, 1997.
Please be aware that if conditions at the site change in the future to alter the need for a CDPS permit, the
Division may take appropriate action.
Please feel free to contact me at (303) 692-3605 if you have questions.
Sincerely,
Jon C.
