Woody vegetation, such as trees and stumps, will be cut to the surface of the
ground in the 50 foot area surrounding the vents. Vents will be identified by the Project Manager. If an
unmarked vent is encountered, the Project Manager must be notified immediately. Any vegetation that
is within the two acre area that is beyond 50 feet from a vent will be cut to the surface of the ground and
the roots may remain in place. Woody vegetation, such as trees and stumps, will be cut to within six
inches of the ground surface beyond the 50 feet from a vent.
