<br />I . PART 3 -EXECUTION • <br />(- 3.01 Installation <br />A. The Contractor shall inspect all gates and their accessories upon delivery to <br />- the job site. Any defects or deficiencies found at that time shall be brought <br />to the Engineer's attention. The Contractor shall either accept or reject the <br />gates and their accessories at that time. <br />B. The Contractor shall install and adjust according to the manufacturer';; <br />recommendations all the slide gates indicated on the Drawings. This shall. <br />include mounting, gate, frame, stem guides and gate operators. <br />3.02 Testing <br />A. The slide gates shall be operated through their entire reach to verify smooth <br />operation and proper seating characteristics. <br />_ B. A representative of the gate supplier shall be present to make any adjust-• <br />~ ments as necessary. <br />: <br />C. Prior to final approval the gates shall be tested under a full or partial heacl <br />i condition (as available) to determine the rate of leakage, if any. The: <br />~ Engineer shall inspect the gates for leakage and if in the opinion of the: <br />Engineer excessive leakage is occurring, the Contractor shall readjust the: <br />gates as necessary to meet the Engineer's approval.
