6/29/22,7:07 AM State-co-us Executive Branch Mail-Re:ASCI Chavers Mining Resource SWSP_PY 2022-2023
I. The distance from well to stream used for the Aggregate Mining lagged depletion model is stated to be 575 feet
(page 4 of the request), but the distance used in the model is 350 feet. Was 350 feet used and 575 feet is an error
on page 4? The 575 feet distance is correct. I inadvertently missed changing the actual model parameter(I think
changed every other reference except the most important one!). The updated text and revised IDS AWAS files are
attached. My mistake, good catch. Sorry about that.
2. It appears the request is for a renewal through December 31, 2022, and then to have that extended through July
31, 2023 if the lease with Aurora is renewed through 2023. Is this correct? essentially, yes. Previously, I had
multiple leases with Aurora which allowed Chavers to be covered for the entire Plan Year, but I condensed all
replacement water into one new lease last fall (an initial year, 2022, with up to 4 annual renewals, which will cover
through 2026). Lease volumes for the new lease were only calculated/submitted for 2022. 1 will submit lease
volumes for 2023 (and possibly beyond)via e-mail to City of Aurora in October 2022. City of Aurora will then send a
confirmation e-mail indicating their acceptance of the replacement schedule. I can forward you the replacement
schedule and acceptance e-mail once I get it(they are very good about responding in a timely fashion, as they will
bill me for 2023 water in December 2022). Since the current replacement schedule is technically only through 2022,
my assumption was that is all you could technically approve through. I will leave it up to you whether this is the
appropriate procedure or if you can renew for the entire plan year contingent upon my sending you the actual
replacement schedule once calculated along with Aurora's acceptance e-mail (whatever is easiest for you).
3. If so, could you confirm that the unlagged depletions for each use from Aug-Dec 2022 are: 6.09 of of evaporation,
0.52 of for dust control, 8.22 of for mined product, and 6.28 of for concrete production =21.11 of total for Aug-Dec
2022? Could you also confirm that the lagged depletions for each use from Aug-Dec 2022 are: 11.82 acre-feet
associated with the evaporation from the pump basin and dewatering trench and mined aggregate, 4.36 acre-feet
associated with the evaporation from the wash pond and dust control, and 6.26 acre-feet associated with the water
pumped from the alluvial well for concrete production = 22.44 of total for Aug-Dec 2022? 1 just want to double
check that I have added these up correctly since these limits will be in the conditions of approval if the plan is not
extended through 2023. For Unlagged depletions, I have three differences. They are* below(individuals off by 0.01
of for total of 0.02 off from total of your calcs). For Lagged depletions, I used revised numbers for mined aggregate
based on the 575 foot model runs (* below and off from yours as you had my incorrect numbers that were in my initial
submittal). My calculations below:
Aug - Dec 2022 Unlagged Depletions
Evaporation = 6.08 af*
Dust Control = 0.52 of
Mined Product= 8.21 af*
Concrete Production = 6.28 of
Total =21.09 af*
Aug - Dec 2022 Lagged Depletions
Evaporation (PB & DWT) + Mined Aggregate = 11.22 af*
Evaporation (WP) + Dust Control =4.36 of
Concrete Production = 6.26 of
Total =21.84 af*
Also,just as a heads up, I will be on vacation beginning tomorrow(6/2)through next Wednesday(6/8). Hopefully,
this revision 1 matches up with your subsequent review. I will be in the field probably for the rest of the day today
https://mail.google.com/mail/b/ALGkdOxhJsspQ9WQy6M8ZvEdoQUrzvydSw2AkGT9zE9ZwUt2JrQJ/u/O/?ik=96aa8a08c9&view=pt&search=all&permt... 2/4
