June 14,2022 C-2010-089/New Horizon North Mine JHB <br /> RECLAMATION SUCCESS -Rule 4.15,Rule 3: <br /> The farmer was in the process of cutting the irrigated pasture at the time of the inspection. The alfalfa was <br /> approximately 12 to 18 inches in height and was at early bloom stage. The farmer was not irrigating since they <br /> were cutting the crop. There were no obvious low or pooling spots noted in the irrigated pasture. <br /> The dryland pasture was very dry due to very little natural precipitation in the area recently. However,the dryland <br /> pasture had healthy perennial grasses and Forage kochia was looking fairly healthy considering the dry conditions. <br /> REVEGETATION—Rule 4.15 <br /> Vegetative Cover;Timing: <br /> The region has been very dry with little recent natural precipitation. The dryland areas look very dry,but <br /> the dryland pasture is surviving and both perennial fortis,forage kochia,and perennial grasses are looking fair.No <br /> noxious weeds were encountered during this inspection. ERMR has been very good and managing noxious weeds <br /> when they have been observed. <br /> SUPPORT FACILITIES -Rule 4.04: <br /> Only a small area on the south east portion of the permit area comprises the former office/facilities area. <br /> This area has been rough graded is remaining open to allow for materials transport when the next phase of <br /> reclamation begins. The facilities area is graded to allow for adequate drainage of runoff and tail water from the <br /> irrigated pasture. The unreclaimed area is establishing a stand of volunteer Kochia. The operator may choose to <br /> mow this volunteer species once it starts to grow and before it spreads seed. <br /> TOPSOIL—Rule 4.06 <br /> Removal 4.06.2; Substitute Materials 4.06.4(4); Storage and Protection 4.06.3; Redistribution 4.06.4: <br /> Topsoil stockpiles exhibited adequate signage,were graded to allow protection from wind and water <br /> erosion, and had adequate vegetative cover to reduce the invasion of noxious weed species. <br /> DOCUMENTS RECEIVED NA <br /> OTHER(SPECIFY) NA <br /> ENFORCEMENT ACTIONS/COMPLIANCE <br /> No enforcement actions were initiated as a result of this inspection,nor are any pending. <br /> Number of Partial Inspection this Fiscal Year: 8 <br /> Number of Complete Inspections this Fiscal Year: 4 <br /> Page 3 of 7 <br />
