Comment/Objection Narrative*
We are residents of Dos Rios Neighborhood which is right across the street from proposed Sand&Gravel Mine
to be operated by Raptor Mining, under the name Two Rivers Sand,Gravel and Reservoir Project.
We are pleading with you not to allow this mine/reclamation site to be set up in our backyards. The proposed
location is 54th Street Rd and Rd 396.This location detrimental to our neighborhood for many reasons;our
health,our safety,our property values and our peace&tranquility!
My family just moved from Denver to the Dos Rios neighborhood because of my severe asthma. The dust that
would come from this mine/reclamation operation would make it impossible for me to live here anymore. Moving
again would be financially devastating for our family.
The truck traffic that would be coming and going from this mine/reclamation site would not only be a nuisance
but it would be extremely dangerous for us due to 54th St. Rd being a narrow, winding road with no shoulder.
Please note,54th St Rd is the only access we have into our neighborhood.
My neighbors and my family truly value the peace and quiet of our Dos Rios neighborhood.Some.of the
residents in this area have been here for 20 years and none of.us deserve a mine to be put in their backyards.
We pay substantial amount of property tax to live in this peaceful area and the fact that you would even
consider allowing this noisy, dusty, safety hazard operation to move in next door to us is truly appalling!!!
These is also the issue of the Bald Eagle nesting area and general wildlife along the rivers. This
mine/reclamation site would endanger/displace many of those animals.
Weld County is huge and this mining/reclamation operation could be set up anywhere else that isn't right next
to a neighborhood!
You would have heard from many of the residents.of Dos.Rios earlier if we had been properly notified about this
proposed Mining operation.Signs were not posted anywhere that we could see them from 54th Street Rd.(The
only street we use to access our neighborhood). One of the neighbors just happened to be walking their dog on
Rd 396 last week and saw the signs about the permit request. The proper way to notify us would have been to
send everyone in our neighborhood a letter and/or post the notices at the entrances to our neighborhood. The
way this was done feels sneaky and underhanded,as if they didn't want us to know until it was.too late for us to
have any say in the matter.
Please help the residents of the Dos Rios neighborhood.
Thank you for your time!
Sincerely,
Mark&Shellie Troutini
Permit Number*
Enter valid letter and then numbers, for example M1977999, M1999777UG or C1981201.
M2022013
Permitting Action Type
Select revision type or leave blank if comment pertains to a new permit application or NOI
Permit Type
Reclamation
County*
Weld County
Enter one county only
Site Name
.
