and still remain approximately 5 feet above ground water. The south portion
of Phase I and the north portion of Phase II has been mined to a final
elevation of 8095. The remaining area on the north portion of Phase I and
the south portion of Phase II will be mined to its final elevation of 8095 in
the year 2022. Once Phase I and Phase II are at their final depth the
operations will continue into Phase III to the east, Phase IV to the northeast,
Phase V to the northwest Phase VI to the west and then the final Phase VII
to the south. The elevation of the pit floor shall remain at 8095 for the entire
permitted area.
e. Mining began on Phase I in the spring of 2010 and has continuously
been mined as well as Phase II for the past 12 years. At the present timed it
is believed that there is less than a year of mining material available in the
current 15 acre parcel and expansion will begin to Phase III in order to
continue the business and supply our community with much needed
materials for construction projects. Depending on the demand for product it
is estimated that approximately 1.5 to 2.0 acres per year would be mined.
Once all stockpiles of material are depleted and the mining and stockpiling
has progressed on to Phases IV thru VII the boundary walls in phases I and
III will be reclaimed to pastureland.
PHASE I
Year Elevation Disturbed Reclaimed Acres
Acres
Sta el
2010 8150 2.0
2011 3.0
2012 4.0
2013 5.0
Stage 2
2014 8130 6.0
2015 7.0
2016 8110 7.5
2022 8095 7.5
