Requirement Regulation Comment
Field parameters sampled comprise temperature (°C),flow
(gpm),pH(std units),conductivity(µmhos), and constituent
parameters comprise TSS(mg/1),TDS(mg/1),Fe(mg/1),total
K. Parameters to be Table 4.8-12 of Fe (mg/1),total Al(mg/1).
sampled at CDRMS Extended parameter sampling requires sampling for As(mg/1),
surface water mining permit HCO3 (mg/1),total Ba(mg/1),Ca(mg/1),total Ca(mg/1),total
sites C-81-010 Cr(mg/1),total Cu(mg/1),F(mg/1),Mg(mg/1),total Pb(mg/1),
Mn(mg/1),total Mn(mg/1),total Mo (mg/1),Ni(mg/1),Na
(mg/1),No' (mg/1), SAR(ratio),total Se(mg/1), SO4(mg/1),
total Zn(m /1).
Upon completion of mining, Trapper's pond network will be
used for watering livestock and wildlife. To evaluate the
suitability of Trapper's surface water for those uses,a
comparison of surface water data as per the AHR to water
quality standards of CWQCC Regulations 31 and 37 for
stream segment 3b is made. Regulation 37s classifications for
L. Prevention of stream segment 3b include Aquatic Life (warm 2),Recreation
impacts to (P), and Agriculture. The State of Colorado defines the
surface water CDRMS agricultural use classification as water suitable for irrigation
adversely regulation and stock watering, assuming that water safe for livestock and
impacting the 4.05.1(2) aquatic life is also safe for wildlife. Also, certain constituents
postmining land monitored have effluent limitation standards requirements as
use per Trapper's NPDES permit, discussed above in in sections E
and G.
Water quality was measured at the downstream discharge
points in drainages near the northern permit boundary. Water
quality at these locations is assumed to be representative of
water quality higher in the watersheds. No exceedances of
standards occurred in 2021.
M.
