COLORADO <br /> ® Division of Reclamation, <br /> Mining and Safety <br /> Department of Natural Resources <br /> May 16, 2022 <br /> Jim Doody <br /> Grand Junction Pipe&Supply Co. <br /> 556 Struthers Ave <br /> Grand Junction, CO 81501 <br /> RE: 23 Road Pit, Permit No. M-1979-089,Technical Revision (TR-8),Adequacy Review-1 <br /> Dear Mr. Doody: <br /> The Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety (Division) is in the process of reviewing the above <br /> referenced Technical Revision in order to ensure that it adequately satisfies the requirements of the <br /> Colorado Land Reclamation Act for the Extraction of Construction Materials (Act) and the associated <br /> Mineral Rules and Regulations of the Colorado Mined Land Reclamation Board for the Extraction of <br /> Construction Materials (Rules). During review of the material submitted, the Division determined that <br /> the following issue(s) of concern need to be adequately addressed before the Technical Revision can be <br /> considered for approval. Please provide the following: <br /> 1. Regarding pond dewatering,what is the inflow rate for each pond? <br /> 2. Map F-1 depicts areas to be reclaimed as riparian. Please provide the riparian seed mix to be <br /> utilized. <br /> 3. A building is loacated to the southeast of pond 4, will a road be required to access this building <br /> post reclamation? If so please depict it on map F-1. Similiariy if any other interstiali roads to the <br /> ponds are to remain please depict them. <br /> 4. Note that the Division will rip (decompact) all soil in the stockyard areas that will be reclaimed as <br /> rangeland prior to topsoil replacement. <br /> Please submit your response(s) to the above listed issue(s) by Friday. June 3, 2022 in order to allow the <br /> Division sufficient time for review. If you cannot address the above issues by June 3, 2022 please request <br /> an extension to the decision due date to ensure adequate time for the Division to review materials. A <br /> decision due date of June 15, 2022 has been set.
