PERMIT#:M-1999-040 <br /> INSPECTOR'S INITIALS:ACY <br /> INSPECTION DATE:May 3,2022 <br /> OBSERVATIONS <br /> This inspection was conducted as part of the Colorado Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety (Division) <br /> normal monitoring program. The Red Wash Gravel Pit is a 110c permitted site that includes a total of 9.9 <br /> permitted acres. The site is located 16 miles south of Rangely, Colorado and is accessed from Rio Blanco <br /> County Road 111. The pit is on property owned by the Bureau of Land Management, no representative was <br /> present for the inspection. Clint Chappell, Gwen Lyons and James Haggart represented the operator and <br /> accompanied Amy Yeldell of the Division on the inspection. No financial warranty is held for this site as is it <br /> operated by Rio Blanco County, per Rule 4.1.2(2). <br /> The mine identification sign and affected area boundary markers are in place and in compliance with Rule <br /> 3.1.12. There is a gate located on the south side of the pit which grants access to the top of the cut located along <br /> the west side. This gate was stuck open. <br /> Site was inactive at the time of the inspection. Grizzly bars were located on the east side of the pit adjacent to <br /> the county road. No other processing equipment, structures, fuel, etc. are stored on site. A stockpile of screened <br /> material is located on the east side of the pit. A large pile of crushed material is located in the middle of the pit <br /> adjacent to the processing area. There are two active highwalls both of which appear stable. <br /> Overall the site is kept in good working order. Little to no weeds were observed.Native vegetation has <br /> volunteered in some areas.
