EXHIBIT I SOILS INFORMATION
1 . General
A soil report was generated using the United States Department of Agriculture's NRCS Web
Soil Survey (WSS)3 and is included in this exhibit as Appendix 1-1 at the end of this exhibit. The
WSS provides soil data and information produced by the National Cooperative Soil Survey. The
majority of the site's soil (65%) is made up of Waterdog soil while the remaining portion of the
site is made up of Montrose silty clay loam (see map C-1). These primary soil types that exist at
the site are described as follows.
2. Suitability for Reclamation Revegetation
The two soil types provide an average of 5 inches of suitable material for revegetation. They are
both considered prime farmland if irrigated, however, the majority of the site will be groundwater
ponds so this will not be necessary for the post mine land use. The A-horizon of the soil profile
was used as the basis for determining the topsoil stripping depth during mining operations.
3.
