evaporative losses of groundwater, of which will require appropriate permits. The Gunnison
River in this location is currently over-appropriated, thus requiring and augmentation plan for
water usage at the site. Elam Construction will obtain the required augmentation plan and
additional gravel well permits prior to the exposure of any groundwater at the site. A copy of
these plans will be provided to the Division through a Technical Revision.
8. Water Related Permits
Elam Construction is applying for all necessary permits that have not already been acquired for
water handling at the Delta Paving Gravel Pit. This includes their current discharge permit with
the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment and their gravel well permit for their
existing groundwater exposure with the Colorado Division of Water Resources. The same
discharge permit will be used for removing water from the site in the future. A new gravel well
permit will need to be obtained for the new groundwater exposure associated with the additional
mining areas.
9. Water Consumption and Source
Water for dust control will be the primary consumptive use at the Delta Paving site. Water will
also be used for aggregate washing, evaporative losses, and concrete/asphalt production. This
water will be sourced from the groundwater lakes associated with the gravel well permits. Table
G-4 summarizes the estimated water consumption for the operation throughout the year.
Table G-4 Water Consumption
Aggregate Concrete/Asphalt Dust Evaporative Water Removed
DepletionsMonth Washing Production(ac-ft) Control
an 0
Feb 0.00 0.00 0.00 I 7.62 0.00 7.6
0100 4.4 0 11.97 0.00 12.0
A r 0.41 0.43 0.55 19.60 0.23 21.0
0.4 845''-':''%" 0.571 26.13 0.24 27.6
Jun 0.41 0.43 0.55 31.57 0.23 33.0
Jul, 0.43,- 0.45 32.66 0.24 34.1
Aug0.43 0.45 0.577 29.39 0.24 30.8
e 0.41 0.43 t" 5-: 21.77" 0.23 23.2
Oct 0.43 0.45 0.57 1 15.24 0.24 16.7
Nov 0,00 0.00 0.00 8,74-". 0.00 8.7
Dec 0.00 0.00 0.00 6.53 0.00 6.5
Total 2.95 3.07 3.96 217.72 1.65 227.7
Delta Paving Gravel Pit
Apr112022 G-7 Lewicki&Associates
