Wattenberg Disturbance Reclamation, Exhibit D-Reclamation Plan April 2022
RECLAMATION
This Reclamation Plan is provided to document actions recently taken to address the affected area within which
imported topsoil was removed after the topsoil was inadvertently placed within this area which is outside of the
DRMS permitted area at Wattenberg. The imported topsoil was removed to the previous ground surface (i.e., to
the original topsoil layer). A summary of the sequence of activities is provided in Exhibit B-Site Description.
The land slope gradient is flat which is the same under reclamation as before the disturbance took place. No
topsoil or other materials previously placed in the affected area remain and no site features or structures changed
as a result of the reclamation. Estimated costs for reclamation are not provided because reclamation has already
taken place.
The affected area (see Map E-101 in Exhibit E)was seeded, fertilized, and mulched on March 28, 2022.
Reclamation did not require placement of additional soils or other materials. To complete the reclamation, two
tractors and associated equipment, a disk, and equipment to apply seed, fertilizer, and mulch were used. Ground
preparation involved disking the soil to prepare the seed bed. Then, the Upland Loam Seed Mix (below) was
requested by the City of Aurora for the affected area. This mix was drill seeded and 500 pounds per acre of
organic fertilizer were applied, along with 2 tons per acre of straw mulch which was spread and crimped.
Upland Loam Seed Mix
From City of Aurora-North Campus Operations and Maintenance Manual
Common Name Scientific Name % of Mix Pure Live Seed
PLSpounds/acre
Blue Grama Bouteloua gracilis "Hachita" 20 1
Bottlebrush Squirreltail Elymus elymoides "Sand Hollow" 5 1.1
Buffalograss Buchloe dactyloides "Sharps" 15 11.5
Green Needlegrass Nassella viridula "Lodorm" 5 1.5
Native Prairie Junegrass Koeleria cristata 5 0.1
Sand Dropseed Sporobulus cryptandrus 10 0.1
Sideoats Grama Bouteloua curtipendula "Vaughn" 5 1.1
Western Wheatgrass Pascopyrum smithii Arriba" 25 9.9
Slender Wheatgrass Elymus trachycaulus "Pryor" 10 2.5
Total 28.8
TETRA TECH P a g e 1 1
