No pit dewatering will take place, as the groundwater table is well below the planned bottom of
the pit. No groundwater exposure will take place. See Exhibit G for full water information for the
operation.
1.1 . San Miguel County Property Line Berm Mining
Adjacent to the west is a San Miguel County sand and gravel pit. United Companies will
eventually mine to the property line. Prior to mining within 100 feet of the western property line,
United Companies will provide an agreement with San Miguel County for mutual mining of the
separating berm. This agreement will be provided in a technical revision to CDRMS.
2. Mining Timetable
Table D-1 Mining Timetable
Activity Time
1PIaI sti // Ffrsti f Year 1 ...
Mining of first 13 acre half of pit Years 1-13
The mining schedule is planned to minimize disturbance by reclaiming areas as additional
mining is undertaken. Note: If large contracts are awarded to the site, production could increase
to the permit maximum, thereby curtailing the life of the pit. On the other hand, if contracts are
less than anticipated, the life of the pit could be extended. This table is based on a reasonable
projection of average production rates.
3. Mine Facilities and Operation
The site will contain the following facilities. There are no portable or permanent facilities, as they
are located in the United/Norwood Pit. The site will contain the following equipment.
- Front-end loaders
- Bulldozers
- Scrapers
- Haul trucks (off highway)
No structures will be built within the mining area.
Maintenance vehicles will visit the site regularly to provide oil, grease, and perform other minor
maintenance on vehicles and equipment. Any major repair work required will be performed off
site.
Skelton Pit
January 2022 C-2 Lewicki&Associates
