SCOPE <br /> This report presents the results of a geotechnical investigation for Varra Companies on <br /> the Two Rivers Property located in Weld County, Colorado. The investigation was <br /> conducted to evaluate subsurface conditions relative to sand and gravel reserves. The <br /> investigation was done in general accordance with our "Proposal for Geotechnical <br /> Engineering Evaluation" dated January 8, 2015. <br /> This report includes descriptions of the subsoil and groundwater conditions found in the <br /> exploratory borings. <br /> SITE CONDITIONS <br /> The site is located west of La Salle in Weld County, Colorado. The property occupies <br /> portions of Sections 3 and 4, Township 4 North, Range 66 West, and Sections 33 and 34, <br /> Township 5 North, Range 66 West of the 6tn Principal Meridian. The property is bordered <br /> to the north by W. 5Xh Street Road. The South Platte River flows from the west and <br /> forms the southern and eastern boundaries of the property. The Big Thompson River <br /> bisects the property in the northern half. County Road 396 continues through the property <br /> starting in the southwest corner and coming to an end at W. 54th Street Road. <br /> The area investigated contains one dwelling accompanied by one barn and one garage, <br /> but is mainly undeveloped. Natural gas and oil wells, including collection and <br /> conveyance facilities, are located throughout the site. A large portion of the site is being <br /> used for agricultural purposes. <br /> FIELD INVESTIGATION AND LABORATORY TESTING <br /> Subsurface conditions were investigated by drilling twelve exploratory geotechnical <br /> borings at the locations indicated on the Boring Location Plan, Figure 1. The borings <br /> were drilled between January 27 and January 30, 2015, with a truck-mounted hollow <br /> stem auger drill rig. A WesTest engineer was on site during drilling to log the soils <br /> encountered and obtain samples.
