COLORADO
Division of Reclamation,
® Mining and Safety
Department of Natural Resources
March 8, 2022
Jeremy Cossman
1507 N Nevada Avenue
Colorado Springs, CO 80907
Re: Astro Mine(CO101762371),DRMS File No. M-2022-010;
Need for State Mine Reclamation Permit
Dear Mr. Cossman:
The Colorado Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety (Division) has specific Rules and Regulations for
Hard Rock, Metal, and Designated Mining Operations, adopted by the Colorado Mined Land Reclamation Board
in January 2015. These rules are in accordance with the Colorado Mined Land Reclamation Act(Title 34 Article
32). It has come to the attention of the Division that you may be conducting mineral operations at your claim
that requires a mine reclamation permit. The Division has assigned file ID number M-2022-010 to your claim(s).
Please reference this Permit ID number on any correspondence you submit to the Division.
As defined in the Act(34-32-103(8)),"mining operation"means the development or extraction of a mineral from
its natural occurrences on affected land. These activities would need an approved mine reclamation permit with
the Division.
As defined in the Act (34-32-110), Any person desiring to conduct limited mining operations may apply for the
expedited processing of a mine reclamation permit under two categories: 110(1) — for operations on less than
five acres; or 110(2)—for operations on less than ten acres. Both categories limit material extractions to less than
70,000 tons of mineral or overburden or combination of the two per calendar year.
An approved reclamation permit is required prior to conducting any mineral mining activities on your claim.
You may also need to file an NOI or MPO with the USFS. If you have any questions regarding whether your
activities require a reclamation permit, please contact Michael Cunningham at the Division (303) 866-3567 x
8116.
Sincerely,
Timothy
Environmental Protection Specialist
CERTIFIED MAIL NO. 7019 2280 0001 8254 5783 -Return Receipt Requested
ec: Michael Cunningham,DRMS
Physical: 1313 Sherman Street.Room 215, Denver.CQ 80203 P 303,866.3567 F 303,332.8106
Mailing: DRMS Room 215, 1001 E 62nd Ave,Denver, Co 80216 ht":s,+d1rms.eolorado.%ov ? 90,
Jared S.
