(OSMI) is providing information requested by the Division of
Reclamation Mining and Safety (DRMS) in its inspection report dated February 9, 2022 as well
as discussed in a phone call between OSMI and DRMS on February 10, 2022. Specifically
included in this submittal are:
- As-built drawings of the Atlas Tailing Storage Facilities (TSFs). OSMI was able to
generate as-builts drawings by surveying the area and digging through snow to access
corners and edges of the pad at certain locations. The attached as-builts were confirmed
against photos taken during construction as well as with the original design. We are
calling this a Preliminary as-built drawing and will ground truth the survey once the snow
melts. Below is an image of the pad during construction showing there is a berm around
the TSF and runoff from the tailings placed in the pad will be directed towards the
sediment pond.
- The mine also committed to submit baseline characterization of the tailings using Acid
Base Accounting (ABA), Toxicity Characterizations leachate Procedure (TCLP), and
Phone: (970)325-9830 ♦ Fax: (970) 325-9824
