PERMIT#:M-2010-016
INSPECTOR'S INITIALS:ACY
INSPECTION DATE:February 22,2022
OBSERVATIONS
This inspection was conducted as part of the Colorado Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety (Division)
normal monitoring program. The East Bradbury Pit is a 112c permitted site that includes a total of 129
permitted acres. The site located is approximately six miles southeast of Whitewater, Colorado and is accessed
from Highway 50. Jim Doody of Grand Junction Pipe & Supply Co. represented the operator and accompanied
Amy Yeldell of the Division on the inspection.
There is a locked gate to access the pit from Highway 50,with no acceleration or deceleration lanes making
access difficult. This site has yet to commence mining activity and remains undisturbed. There are no
stockpiles, equipment, fuel or structures on site. Some trash including carcass disposal was observed however it
does not appear to be due to mining and therefore is not cited as a problem. Its noted that this property adjoins
BLM so degradation to the site is likely the result of trespassing.
The site continues to be overran with what appears to be Halogeton (a noxious weed). Very little desirable
vegetation. This inspection was conducted during the dormant growing seasons and positive vegetative litter
may be less apparent amongst the weeds. Pre-law disturbances in addition to the general and nature of the area
make for very tough growing conditions, therefore this is not cited as a problem.
The Division currently requires a financial warranty amount of$107,139 for this site.
No problems or violations were noted during this inspection.
Responses to this inspection report should be directed to: Amy Yeldell at the Division of Reclamation, Mining
and Safety, Rm 215, 1001 E 62nd Ave, Denver, CO 80216. Direct contact can be made by phone at 303-866-
3567 or via email at amy.yeldell@state.co.us
Inspection Contact Address
Jim Doody
Grand Junction Pipe & Supply Co.
556 Struthers Ave.
Grand Junction, CO 81501
Enclosure
CC:
Travis Marshall, Senior EPS, Grand Junction DRMS
Page 2 of 4
