DGM Environmental Monitoring QAPP <br /> operations commence, activities such as monitoring of sedimentation storm water <br /> detention pond contents and discharge will require procedure development. <br /> 5.2 Sampling and Monitoring Equipment — Use and Preventive Maintenance <br /> Proper sampling and monitoring equipment will be used in all sampling, monitoring, and <br /> measurement tasks. Task procedures may require specific or special equipment <br /> necessary for a specific task. All sampling and monitoring instruments and equipment <br /> will be properly maintained and calibrated. The specific calibration frequencies, <br /> procedures, maintenance practices, and documentation requirements for field <br /> sampling, monitoring, and measurement equipment and instruments are described in <br /> the manufacturer's operating manuals. <br /> Preventive maintenance will be practiced. The goal of preventive maintenance is to <br /> assure work product completeness and validity by increasing equipment reliability. It <br /> is the equipment operator's responsibility to perform the preventive maintenance tasks <br /> that may include cleaning, lubrication, reconditioning, adjusting, calibrating, testing, <br /> and component replacement. Preventive maintenance of field and laboratory <br /> equipment is accomplished in accordance with the operating manuals and schedules <br /> provided by the equipment manufacturers or developed through routine experience. <br /> Page 6 <br />
