NO.: <br /> Dawson Filtered Tailings Storage Facility SPECIFICATION 02200.0 <br /> Pre-feasibility Study <br /> TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS FOR DATE: (ORIGINAL) <br /> Fremont County, Colorado EARTHWORKS 20-October-16 <br /> PROJECT NO.: 74201633 REVISION: A <br /> DATE: 20-Oct-16 <br /> Lift: An individual layer of materials placed on the prepared surface (or prepared foundation surface in the <br /> case of the first lift) at the specified thickness and compacted in the specified manner or to the specified <br /> end product before placing the next layer(lift). <br /> Lift Thickness: The thickness that materials are placed before being compacted with specified compaction <br /> effort. <br /> Maximum Dry Density: The maximum dry unit weight of a soil by a given compactive effort. <br /> Optimum Moisture Content:The water(moisture) content at which a soil can be compacted to a maximum <br /> dry unit weight by a given compactive effort. <br /> Percent Compaction: The ratio, expressed as a percentage, of the dry unit weight of a soil,to the maximum <br /> dry unit weight obtained in a laboratory compaction test at optimum moisture content. <br /> Suitable Material: Imported material or material excavated from cut areas which meets the <br /> SPECIFICATION requirements for use in constructing fills and has been approved by the ENGINEER. <br /> Unsuitable Materials: Materials that contain waste,debris, roots, organic matter,frozen matter, or any other <br /> materials determined by the ENGINEER to not meet the SPECIFICATIONS for any embankment zone or <br /> required fill, or any material not approved by the ENGINEER. Unsuitable material includes all material <br /> containing unbroken masses of earth materials which might arch or bridge and leave pockets or voids. <br /> 2.0 CONSTRUCTION QUALITY ASSURANCE: <br /> All Work shall be monitored and tested in compliance with the requirements of the Earthworks CQA Plan <br /> (Section 01400.1). All CQA soils testing (both field and laboratory testing) will be the responsibility of <br /> MANAGER and CQA MONITOR(S), as identified in the Earthworks CQA Plan (Section 01400.1). Quality <br /> Control testing shall be the responsibility of the CONTRACTOR. <br /> 3.0 MATERIALS <br /> 3.1 FILTERED TAILINGS <br /> Tailings will be produced from gravity separation and flotation circuits and are assumed to be thickened <br /> prior to feeding to the tailings filter plant.
