If blockage is present, locate and test seam on <br /> both sides of blockage. <br /> • Remove needle or other approved pressure feed device. <br /> • Repair pressure test locations as described in Article 4.8. <br /> • Beginning and ending pressures and times, test locations, documentation number, date and tester <br /> will be indicated with an indelible marker on the liner at each test interval location. <br /> The following procedures shall apply to locations where seams cannot be non-destructively tested, as <br /> determined by CONSTRUCTION MANAGER: <br /> • If the seam is accessible to testing equipment prior to final installation, the seam shall be non- <br /> destructively tested prior to final installation. <br /> • If the seam cannot be tested prior to final installation, the seaming operations shall be observed by <br /> CQA MONITOR for uniformity and completeness. <br /> In the event that seam continuity cannot be demonstrated for a non-destructive test of a fusion seam as <br /> outlined above, the CONTRACTOR shall perform the non-destructive testing over smaller areas as a <br /> means of defining the questionable area, and shall: <br /> • Extrusion weld the outside edge of the questionable seam area and vacuum box test the extrusion <br /> weld; or <br /> • Cap the questionable area and vacuum test the cap. <br /> 4.7 DESTRUCTIVE TESTING <br /> INSTALLER shall test a minimum of one (1) destructive test sample per 500 ft of seam length from a <br /> location specified by the CQA MONITOR. INSTALLER shall not be informed in advance of the sample <br /> location. The samples shall be taken centered over the seam and prioritized as follows: <br /> • A minimum of one sample per day; <br /> • All areas identified as suspect during seaming, non-destructive testing/monitoring, and in unusual <br /> working conditions. <br /> • A minimum of one sample for each geomembrane seamer. <br /> • A minimum of one sample every 500 ft of seaming. <br /> S:\ZEPHYR MINERALS\DRMS MINE APPLICATION\02776-GEOMEMBRANE.DOCX <br />
