NO.: <br /> Dawson Filtered Tailings Storage Facility SPECIFICATION 02776.0 <br /> Pre-feasibility Study <br /> TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS FOR DATE: (ORIGINAL) <br /> Fremont County, Colorado GEOMEMBRANE 20-October-16 <br /> PROJECT NO.: 74201633 REVISION: A <br /> DATE: 20-Oct-16 <br /> 4.0 EXECUTION <br /> 4.1 SUBGRADE <br /> INSTALLER, on a daily basis, shall certify in writing that the surface on which the geomembrane will be <br /> installed is acceptable. It will be the CONTRACTOR'S responsibility to maintain, protect, and if required <br /> return, the subgrade in the condition that was originally accepted, prior to geosynthetic deployment until <br /> accepted by OWNER, under criteria identified in Section 02200.0 as per the subgrade SPECIFICATIONS. <br /> 4.2 ACCEPTANCE <br /> CONTRACTOR shall retain all ownership and responsibility for the geomembrane until final acceptance. <br /> The geomembrane shall be accepted by OWNER when all of the following conditions are met: <br /> • Installation is finished; <br /> • Verification of the adequacy of all seams and repairs, including associated testing, is complete; <br /> • Certification, including QC documentation is provided by CONTRACTOR to MANAGER; <br /> • Recommended acceptance by MANAGER and ENGINEER; and <br /> • The entire Project is complete. <br /> 4.3 ANCHOR TRENCH <br /> The anchor trenches shall be excavated to the lines, grades, and widths shown on the DRAWINGS, prior <br /> to geomembrane placement. CONSTRUCTION MANAGER shall verify that the anchor trench has been <br /> constructed according to the DRAWINGS. <br /> The anchor trench shall be backfilled and compacted as approved by MANAGER, ENGINEER and <br /> CONSTRUCTION MANAGER. Trench backfill material shall be placed in 8-in to 12-in thick loose lifts and <br /> compacted by wheel rolling with light, rubber-tired or other light compaction equipment as approved by <br /> ENGINEER. <br /> Care shall be taken when backfilling the trenches to prevent any damage to the geomembrane. At no time <br /> shall construction equipment come into direct contact with the geomembrane. If damage occurs, it shall be <br /> repaired by CONTRACTOR prior to the completion of backfilling, at no cost to OWNER. <br /> Extend geomembrane into the anchor trench as shown in the DRAWINGS.
