Please be as specific
as possible.
Comment/Objection Narrative
I strongly object to the expansion of the ACME Mine on environmental grounds and concern for public health.
Mining is a severely detrimental practice to the environment, no matter what is being mined.Such an expansion
would destroy a massive swath of our immensely valuable--and at-risk--ecosystem,as well as polluting our
air, water, and other resources. Extractive practices like mining benefit only large corporations for limited time
periods, and any local jobs they create are temporary-they're gone as soon as the mine dries up.The ACME
Mine expansion does not provide my community with any long-term economic growth. It can ONLY hurt us in
the long run. I know that I speak for the vast majority of Golden and surrounding area residents when I say that
we,as a community, value our beautiful land more than the opportunity to provide the world with mined
resources for a few short years.A thriving environment is so much more valuable than the scenery it provides; it
benefits our community's health by drawing us outside to exercise, cleaning our air,and filtering our delicious
drinking water; it's a source of inspiration for our souls, teaching us to be kind and fostering a love for one
another--qualities which, by the way, have very tangible economic impacts;it makes our lives meaningful and
valuable, and it makes us who we are. Loving and protecting our beautiful natural surroundings is what our
community's identity is built on. It's time to ask ourselves an important question: In 50 years, what will this land
be for our community?A source of health, joy, and life--or a wasteland?
Permit Number*
Enter valid letter and then numbers, for example M1977999, M1999777UG or C1981201.
M1976007
Permitting Action Type
Select revision type or leave blank if comment pertains to a new permit application or NOI
Permit Type
County*
Jefferson
Enter one county only
Site Name
Perm ittee/Operator Name
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
