III. OBSERVATIONS AND FINDINGS
PHASE I
Most of the sites included in the SL-5 application had already been released from Phase I liability(see
Table 1).
The location of the TC-1 and TC-2 wells was inspected twice. There was no evidence of TC-1,and TC-
2 was in use as a domestic well. The land was graded so as to blend into the surroundings.
The East Yard Refuse Pile was inspected visually on foot during the SL-5 inspection. Aerial imagery of
the area was also collected in 2019 during the SL-1 inspection, using an Unmanned Aerial Vehicle
(UAV, or"drone"). Details of the UAV survey and analysis are given in the SL-1 Findings document.
No further data was collected or processed with SL-5,but a small section of the same data is shown
below in Figures 1-3,with an additional overlay.
Figure 1 shows the boundary(in bold pink) of the East Yard Refuse Pile to be released with SL-5. The
polygon with pale pink fill to the south and west shows the part of the parcel released with SL-1. The
polygons are overlain on Map 2.05-M6, Sheet I of 7,which shows the approved post-mining
topography.
J
EA
ARC
H us
OF"FicE / /%/ WN
SOft 150fl 250fl
Figure 1
Figure 2 has the same extent as Figure 1,but the polygons are overlain on the Digital Terrain Model
(DTM),which is symbolized to show the slope of the surface; slopes shallower than 2H:1V are colored
yellow, slopes steeper than 2H:1V are red. Projected contour lines are also shown at 10 foot intervals.
C-1981-022 Page 10 of 16
