Mining forever ruins
the area where we live. I protest mining expansion for these many reasons:
-Reduced property values.Who will ever want to live near a mining operation?
-Permanent blight on the front range and destroying the scenery
-Eyesore: It's already horrible and will never recover-even in it's limited land use(which is too much)
-Affects tourism: Golden and other areas nearby rely on tourism;this affects whether people want to spend
time here.
-We already know natural resources like fossils exist in this area; Those will be destroyed.
-This activity is directly opposite of the character and beauty of this area which is why many people live here.
This proposal, if it goes through, would forever damage the ability of those who live here to enjoy their property
and the area as a whole.
-It destroys area recreation with noise, dust, machinery, contamination and disfigurement of the land.
-Public health and safety is at risk for the reasons mentioned.
-It pollutes water, air, soil and contributes to noise pollution. What are the effects on water supplies? All you
have to do is look at abandoned mines in the mountains from 150 years ago to know that mining pretty much
strips the earth of everything and the residuals remains forever, contaminating everything-water,air,soil.
-Reduces and destroys habitats for wildlife
Permit Number*
Enter valid letter and then numbers, for example M1977999, M1999777UG or C1981201.
M1976007
Permitting Action Type
Select revision type or leave blank if comment pertains to a new permit application or NOI
Permit Type
County*
Jefferson
Enter one county only
