The proposed mining permit will leave permanent scars on the hogback,and will result in a daily eyesore for more than 40 years.The proposed expansion will result in the North entry into Golden residential corridor being a minescape,and WILL negatively impact home values,wilderness and open space outdoor experience;which is against the residential usage and character of the area,as well as incompatible with the recreational usage. Additionally the proposed project further impacts the already congested traffic on state highway 93 as well as 56th avenue,as well as residential access in north Golden.This is unacceptable. Lastly, but no less important, is the impact of public health and safety,that includes but is not limited to air quality from the mining operations and equipment,potential for water and well contamination, negative impact to wildlife and their native habitat.
