My main concern with the expansion and more on-site storage (i.e. piles) is associated with increased
dust/particulate matter in the air. Anyone who has driven on 93 during the day(even with light winds)
have noticed tremendous amounts of dust blowing eastward. While most of the dust comes from the
Ralston Quarry, and other facilities north of this expansion project,we don't need anymore. Any
expansion must come with a penalty-enforceable dust mitigation program. My wife is impacted by
particulate matter pollution and the expansion area can be upwind of our house depending on the time
of year.
Finally, expanding the facility from 9 to 85.51 acres is a 950%increase which must require a full
environmental impact analysis and development of mitigation measures. Such an expansion is not
appropriate along the front range because of the immediate down-wind impacts to neighbors.
