Hi Zach,
Thank you for providing the additional information and clarifying the current proposed undertaking. I remained unaware
of the previous consultation and it appeared that TR-152 incorporated the full extent of the area highlighted in yellow.
Based on the documentation and information provided, we now understand that the proposed technical revision consists
of an expansion of highwall mining only along the northwest extent of the existing South Taylor Pit. With this additional
information, I will finish my review and we will provide a response.
Please note, however, for future, similar undertakings that subsidence and vibrations caused by subsurface mining
comprise reasonably foreseeable effects. We may request consideration of these effects on historic properties for similar,
future undertakings. We are open to discussion and reviewing any additional information regarding these effects. We
would recommend that any additional information you provide regarding the potential for subsidence include quantitative
as well as qualitative data.

It should be noted that the majority of highwall mining for the Colowyo Mine adjacent to southern and western limits of
the South Taylor Pit have already been approved with TR-147 as shown above in the image. Attached is the
correspondence from SHPO to the Division regarding TR-147 and highwall mining operations for the noted portion of
the South Taylor Pit.
Colowyo Mine's approved highwall mining plan for the South Taylor Pit is zero-subsidence plan which incorporates
pillaring between entries. No subsidence is expected from highwall mining operations at the South Taylor Pit or has
occurred as a result of previous highwall mining. I have also included Colowyo Mine's approved highwall mining
engineering report and analysis for the South Taylor Pit. This report and analysis is based on standard highwall
engineering practices as well as site specific evaluation from the extensive highwall mining operations that have
