EXHIBITJ <br /> SITE DESCRIPTION <br /> Vegetation and Soil Characteristics <br /> The project site mainly consists of native grass and is used for grazing of livestock and wildlife. <br /> There are some Pinon Pine Trees and Junipers on the property. The soils are labeled Manhattan <br /> Sandy Loam and Tifiwon-Turret Cobble Sandy Loams. These soils are moderately deep over <br /> sand,gravel,and cobbles. The plant cover is grass and a small amount of woody plants. The <br /> average annual precipitation is 11 to 15 inches. The annual average soil temperature is 46° F. <br /> Material ranges in depth from 16 to 37 inches. Most of the acreage of these soils is irrigated <br /> and is used for growing hay, mainly alfalfa. The Tigiwon series consists of well drained soils that <br /> are shallow over sand and gravel. These soils are on old high terraces. The plant cover is mid <br /> grasses and an over story of Pinon Pine and Juniper. The average annual precipitation is 11 to <br /> 15 inches. The average annual soil temperature is 467.
