Naturally occuring coarse rock cap and rangeland grasses with drought tolerant plants
interspersed on a south facing slope of the site. View to the north-northeast; photo captured
November 4, 2016.
Native forest shrubs to be planted are listed in Table 3. Tree tubelings will be planted on north
and east facing slopes; an example of tree species and rate of planting are shown in Table 4.
Native dry rangeland seed mix will be distributed at a similar rate as detailed in the example mix
shown in Table 5. Slopes will be regraded, backfilled, and growth medium applied, as needed, as
soon as they are able to be reclaimed and as additional mining phases become active.
Due to the steep grade, hydroseeding, mulch and/or tackifier will be utilized on all slopes. All
seed mixes and tree tubelings will be verified as adequate for the Young Ranch Resource area by
a third-party expert. The availability of seedlings and tree tubelings will be verified nearing the
time of reclamation work, and if substitutions are necessary, the Division shall be informed.
Young Ranch Resource
December 2021 E-5 Lewicki&Associates
