EXHIBIT E RECLAMATION PLAN
1. General Reclamation Plan
6.4.5(1)
The total disturbed area to be reclaimed under this permit is 335.1 acres. The Young Ranch
Resource will mine a total of 248.9 acres across 469.7 permitted acres. Specific reclamation
plans can be viewed on Map F-1.
To mimic the surrounding natural slopes and to create safe and suitable conditions for
revegetation, sloped quarry walls will be reclaimed to a 2.OH:LOV slope. Sporadic placement of
twenty-five-foot benches of intentional roughened faces, slopes, and cliff bands will be left to
resemble a natural cliff face (Figure 2), WRL slopes will be reclaimed to an overall 2.2H:l.OV
slope with 50-foot benches and will be clad in coarse blasted rock, seeded with dry rangeland
grasses with tree tubelings planted throughout. Flat pads such as the processing area and base of
the mined quarry will be reclaimed at the end of the mine's life by resurfacing and seeding with
rangeland species.
6.4.5(2)(a)
Reclamation will be mixed forest and shrubs paired with rangeland with ancillary wildlife habitat
benefits for the 469.7 permitted acres, emulating the current land use (Map F-1). Post-mining
land use will return the entire disturbed site back to one of two pre-mine ecosystems: north and
east facing slopes will include evergreen forest and shrubs while south and west facing slopes
will be composed of dry rangeland with native grasses on all flat areas. Final acreage, as shown
on Map F-1,to receive each vegetation type is 199.0 acres of rangeland grasses on flats and
south and west facing slopes. While 115.2 acres of native forest shrubs and tree tubelings will be
planted on north and east facing slopes.
As described in the mining plan, partial reclamation will occur concurrently with mining and will
be possible during the transitions between benches. As each bench is mined down in full levels
from top to bottom, only portions of the southern, western, and eastern exterior and original faces
of the site will remain unchanged(Map F-1). The entire north facing slope, as shown on Map C-
1, will be reshaped by mining.
