Division requires this information in order to estimate haul distances for the reclamation
bond.
Coarse blasted rock will be derived from the quarry itself. Very temporary stockpiles of such
material will be stored in the phase 1 processing area in the location shown as "stockpiled
reclamation materials" on Map C-3. Additional coarse blasted rock may be temporarily stored on
the active lift of the WRL in advance of being used during WRL reclamation. This location will
move frequently as the WRL is developed; therefore, it is not shown on Map C-3.
73. Please describe any structures that will be present on site at the end of mine phase 1
(e.g., buildings, scale, scale house, stormwater structures, wildlife mitigation structures)
which would require demolition and/or removal for reclamation, including their
approximate dimensions and the thickness of any foundations. Additionally, please
ensure costs for demolition/removing and disposing of these structures is included in the
bond estimate.
During phase 1, the following items will need to be removed in the event the bond is activated
by the State: portable truck scales, portable office, portable toilets, and portable processing
equipment (crushing and screening plants). Items that will remain at the discretion of the
landowner include: wildlife mitigation structures, the CCP underpass, paved roads onto and
exiting the site from the CCP, access roads such as the road up to phase 2, and stormwater
drainage structures installed as a result of mining activities.
74. Will any demolished/removed structures be disposed of onsite? If so, please show the
anticipated disposal location(s) on the Exhibit L map.
All items listed in response to Division question #73 as removeable for purposes of calculating
the phase 1 bond are portable in nature and will not be disposed of onsite. Any stockpiled
material will either be sold or used in reclamation. Therefore, no onsite or offsite disposal is
planned or anticipated.
75. Will any demolished/removed structures require off-site disposal? If so, please specify
the anticipated disposal location(s) or provide an approximate distance to the anticipated
facility.
All equipment and structures used in phase 1 and described in response to Division question
#73 as removeable will be portable and removed at the discretion of the owner of said
equipment. Therefore, an estimation of disposal distance is not necessary for calculating the
bond for phase 1.
Exhibit M— Other Permits and Licenses (Rule 6.4.13):
76. This exhibit states a U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms permit will be
required for blasting compliance. It is the Division's understanding that additional
permitting and/or approvals may also be required from the Colorado Division of Oil and
Public Safety. Is the applicant aware of any additional state requirements for blasting? If
so, please include them in this exhibit.
December 2021 24 Lewicki 81 Associates
