Gunnison Ave, Suite 240 <br />Grand Junction, CO 81501-5711 <br /> <br /> <br />Re: New Horizon North Mine (Permit No. C-2010-089) <br /> Permit Renewal Application No. 2 (RN-2) <br /> <br /> <br />Dear Sir or Madam : <br /> <br />The Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety hereby issues notice, in accordance with Title 34, <br />Article 33, Section 118, Paragraph 3, of the Colorado Revised Statutes, that on December 21, 2021, <br />an application to renew an existing permit to conduct coal mining operations at the New Horizon <br />North Mine was considered complete for the purposes of filing. All review and comment periods as <br />provided in the Colorado Surface Mining Reclamation Act and the Rules initiate from this date of <br />filing. <br /> <br />Elk Ridge Mining and Reclamation, LLC proposes to continue surface coal mining and/or <br />reclamation operations on land located approximately 2.5 miles Northwest of Nucla. The permit <br />area is further described as follows: <br /> <br />Portions of Sections 25 and 36, T 47 N, R 16 W, N.M.P.M. <br /> <br />The above-mentioned tracts of land are shown on the following USGS 7.5 minute Quadrangle <br />map(s): Nucla. <br /> <br />Elk Ridge Mining and Reclamation has applied for a permit renewal of the New Horizon North <br />Mine. <br /> <br />This renewal application does not propose revisions to the approved mining and reclamation plan, <br />nor is there any proposed surface disturbance outside of the currently approved disturbance area. <br />
