PERMIT 4: M-1976-018
INSPECTOR'S INITIALS: ECS
INSPECTION DATE: December 9, 2021
OBSERVATIONS
This was a routine monitoring inspection for the North Weld Gravel permit, a 522 acre 112c sand and gravel
operation, conducted by Eric Scott of DRMS. DRMS met C&H Excavating permittee representative Derek
Daniels and observed the site with him at approximately 13:00.
The permit area encompasses 522 acres, with a site entrance on the west side of WCR 39 between WCR 96
and WCR 94. The site identification sign was observed at the existing site entrance location (photos 1 and 2),
and the extent of the site boundary was marked with posts and existing fencing.
The site was active during this inspection with the plant and stockpile/sales area is situated near the site
entrance (photo 3). Approximately 135 acres in the east/northeast area of the permitted area have been
disturbed at this time (photo 5). The topsoil and overburden have been stockpiled along the perimeter of the
excavated areas. Concurrent reclamation is also taking place in the northeast area of the permit where
mining has been completed (photo 4).
Mining appears to be in compliance with the approved plan at this time, and the concurrent reclamation in
the NE area of the permit looks excellent. Representative photos of site conditions have been attached to this
report.
Inspection Contact Address
Derek Daniels
C & H Aggregate, LLC
43646 WCR45
Ault, CO 80610
