PERMIT#:M-2010-034
' INSPECTOR'S INITIALS:ECS
INSPECTION DATE:November 17,2021
OBSERVATIONS
This was a routine monitoring inspection of the McEndaffer Mine, an approximately 31.5 acre sand and gravel operation,
conducted by DRMS representative Eric Scott. The site is permitted by Syzygy Enterprises. Rick Miller of Syzygy met
DRMS at the site and accompanied DRMS for this inspection. The mine is located off the west side of Hwy 71 just north
of Weld County Rd 124. The site identification sign was present at the entrance to the site from Hwy 71 (Photo 1).
The site boundary was previously marked by steel T-posts,however, several of the posts were missing around the mine
area, and none were observed around the scale house and turn-around area that was included in the permit area through
CN1. As stated on the first page of this report, all missing permit boundary markers will need to be replaced and
proof provided to DRMS that this has been done by the corrective action date of 12-31-21.
There was no active mining taking place during this inspection, although there was an end-loader on site(Photo 2). Very
little area outside of the original 9.9 acre permit area was disturbed at the time of this inspection. Mr.Miller stated that
the mine has been operating from existing stockpiled material although additional mining may take place in 2022. Mining
appeared to be taking place according to the approved mining plan and no other issues were noted during this inspection.
DRMS encourages the permittee to make sure the approved weed control plan is implemented and to mine to 3:1 slopes as
approved in the current mining plan(Photo 3).
Inspection Contact Address
Rick Miller
Syzygy Enterprises LLC
2986 W.29th Street
Greeley,CO 80631
