For any fire at the surface facilities <br /> - Ouray Fire Department (Immediately) <br /> o (970) 325-7069 or 911 <br /> - US Mine Safety and Health Administration (within 2 hours) <br /> o (303) 234-5465 <br /> - Ouray County Health Department (Situation dependent) <br /> • (970) 325-4670 <br /> Phase 2 - Operations <br /> The limiting factors of terrain and distance dictate that many emergency situations that occur <br /> at the surface facilities of the Revenue Mine will have to be successfully resolved or controlled <br /> by on-site personnel before external agencies or organizations will be able to mobilize and <br /> arrive on-site. <br /> On-site personnel involved in responding to an emergency scene must carefully <br /> evaluate the situation prior to committing themselves and others to action. The severity <br /> of any injury, the quantity and concentration of any hazardous material released, the presence <br /> or absence of fire and/or energized electrical circuits, and the location of the incident are <br /> some of the primary factors used in determining an operations strategy both before and <br /> during an incident response. Responders should always perform a thorough initial and <br /> ongoing incident evaluation that accounts for these factors and adjust their actions <br /> accordingly. A thorough incident evaluation should include the following aspects: <br /> I) The presence of physical and electrical hazards, or hazardous materials. <br /> 2) The physical layout of the incident area. <br /> 3) The extent of injury, if applicable. <br /> 4) The type and quantity of materials spilled,if any. <br /> 5) Any actions already taken. <br /> 6) The number and skills of available personnel. <br /> 7) The type and quantity of available equipment and supplies. <br /> 8) The type and availability of both internal and external support. <br /> Revenue Mine May 2021 Rule 8-7 <br />
