The Technical Revision is in
response to your site inspection on May 26, 2021 and provides updated information regarding the
Treiber Lakes final reclamation plan. Specifically, this Technical Revision provides information
that addresses the inspection report:
✓ Problem#1. Sediment control created by erosion gullies and ruts along the north shoreline
of the North Reservoir (Treiber A) and other general erosion rilling along unvegetated
portions of the reservoir shorelines.
✓ Problem#2. Provide sufficient information to describe or identify how the operator intends
to conduct reclamation, specifically water management structures not currently in the
approved reclamation plan.
✓ Problem#3. Revegetation success and control of noxious weed growth.
The Treiber Lakes site is located about one mile north of the City of Fort Collins in Larimer
County,Colorado. The Treiber Lakes site was originally permitted for sand gravel mining in 2011
and includes approximately 94 acres.
Mining Plan
This Technical Revision does not change the original mining plan. Even at the time of the original
application, mining on the site was substantially complete so isolated mining activities were not
described as occurring in specific phases. Since that time, slurry walls have been constructed
around the perimeter of the mine pits. The newly created below-grade reservoirs are currently
being used for water rights transfers and storage. However, as the reservoirs are periodically
emptied, the opportunity still exists to mine additional pit run from the bottom of the reservoirs for
use off-site and/or to expand the storage capacity of the reservoirs.
