PERMIT#: M-2007-038
INSPECTOR'S INITIALS: ECS
INSPECTION DATE:November 17,2021
OBSERVATIONS
This was a routine monitoring inspection conducted at the Fiscus North Pit by Eric Scott of DRMS. DRMS met
Weld County representative Clay Kimmi on-site and toured the permit area with him. The site identification
sign was noted at the access point to the site area (Photo 1), and the boundary markers were observed. This
site was a "ridgetop removal" type site with an adjacent processing and stockpile area. This site is currently
under final reclamation. All product stockpiles have been removed, and the topsoil has been replaced over
the previously affected areas.
The site was in compliance at the time of the inspection with no outstanding issues observed. The
reclamation vegetation on the ridgetop area was observed to be established and in good condition (Photos 2-
3), however the stockpile area will likely need reseeding. Mr. Kimmi stated that the stockpile area had been
impacted by prairie dogs, and that the County intended to reseed that area, along with some of the on-site
roadways, to improve the reclamation for release (Photo 4).
Mr. Kimmi stated that the County would like to release the ridgetop area of the permit so that control of the
reclaimed area would revert to the landowner. Based on the condition of the vegetation observed during this
inspection, DRMS would support the release of this area. If Weld County submits an acreage reduction
request to DRMS within the next 30 days of the date of this report, along with a revised permit boundary map
and permit acreage, DRMS will utilize this inspection as the acreage reduction inspection.
Inspection Contact Address
Jeff York
Weld County Public Works
1111 H St.
Greeley, CO 80632
