WESTERN SLOPE FLAGSONE
QUARRY NO. 2
FONTANARI PERMIT
REVISED EXHIBIT G
Water Information
Route of the Martin Crawford Ditch
Portions of the Martin Crawford Ditch, now owned by Fontanari, cross portions of the permit area.
From Rapid Creek, water is directed through a pipeline owned by Ute Water Conservancy District
to a point on the Martin/Crawford Ditch approximately 1000 feet East of the Ute water Fitter
Plant. Water is then released into the Martin Crawford Ditch, which flows Northwesterly to the
Southwest comer of Section 35.The route of the Martin Crawford Ditch shall be preserved.
No Irrigation Within Permit area
The permit * now amended and revised to specifically prohibit irrigation within the permit
area. ,
Any future irrigation within the permit area, whether flood, sprinkler or other type, would
require a specific, approved permit amendment or revision.
Water Used in Mining and Reclamation Operations
Water amounts needed for dust suppression of the roads, screens and crusher shall
be supplied by water trucks. It is estimated that 225,000 gallons of water shall be
needed to process 70,000 tons annually. This is less than a total of one acre-foot per
year.
Any waterto be used to water or irrigate reclaimed areas(other than the application
of hydro-mulch)shall require a technical revision to the permit.
No Ground Water Present
No ground water is present which needs de-watered and the Mine Plan produces pits
throughout the life of the project what will retain all storm water generated on the affected
area which will seep into surrounding soils rapidly after storm events. No irrigation water
from on or off the permit area shall be stored in pits within the permit area.
Storm Water Management Plan ,
A storm water management plan is being prepared which calls for additional impoundments to
collect run-off from haul roads being used in the operation. No storm runoff from the Fontanari
operation should reach State waters. It js our understanding that no permit is required if there is
no discharge into State waters.
