<br />Notice of Proposed Decision <br /> <br /> <br />The Colorado Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety has issued a proposed decision to approve <br />Bond Release Application No. 14 (SL-14) for the West Elk Mine, Permit No. C-1980-007. With <br />the approval of SL-14 Mountain Coal Company is released from phase I reclamation liability for <br />12.05 acres of disturbance, including the plugging and abandonment of 15 Mine Ventilation <br />Boreholes, 3 monitoring wells and 2 exploration holes; and the backfilling and grading of <br />associated roads and pads. The underground operation is operated by Mountain Coal Company, <br />LLC under the provisions of the Colorado Surface Coal Mining Reclamation Act of 1979. The bond <br />release application was submitted by Mountain Coal Company, LLC on March 4, 2021.
